The life of a composer
Not the music kind — this one is about the box where you type to an AI. Four sides, four corners: how hard can it be? It turns out a box is just a ton of decisions. What should the button say? Where does the plus go? Does Enter send? Who gets a spot on it? Every answer raises the next question, and every little decision is a rabbit hole. In twenty minutes and one box on screen, Pablo walks through the whole life of a composer, from an empty box to a finished one, and what all those tiny decisions say about craft. (This talk will not be live-streamed.)
Profile
Pablo Stanley is a Mexican designer based in San Francisco and a designer at Anthropic (Member of Technical Staff). Before that he worked on v0 at Vercel, co-founded Lummi and Blush, and designed at InVision and Carbon Health. He also makes little products like Hilos and Efecto, drew the illustration libraries Humaaans and Open Peeps, and writes the comic “The Design Team.” Lately he thinks way too much about text boxes.
